FAQ
What happens after the 14-day trial?
Arkanix switches to view-only mode: the directory and reports stay available, and changes are turned off. Subscribe at any time and everything switches back on without reinstalling.
How are accounts counted?
We count enabled user accounts. Disabled accounts, computers and groups don't count toward the limit.
What if we go over the plan limit?
Arkanix warns you ahead of time as you get close to the limit. Once you go over, you'll see a reminder to move to a higher plan. Password resets and unlocks keep working no matter what.
How many admins can we add?
As many as you need, on any plan. Access is granted through groups in your AD.
Does our data go anywhere?
No. Arkanix runs on your server and connects to the domain inside your network. Directory data is never sent outside it.
What rights does the service account need?
Viewing and reports work with regular domain user rights. Password resets and changes need delegated rights on the OUs you choose, and a script to grant them ships in the package. Domain Admin rights aren't needed.
Does the server need internet access?
No. The archive contains everything needed to install and update.
Can we change plans?
Yes, at any time. When you upgrade, the difference is prorated for the time left on your subscription.
Are updates included?
Yes. Every new version is included while you're subscribed. Ultra subscribers get new versions 3 days before everyone else. Fixes for serious bugs and vulnerabilities ship to every plan at once.
Do you support Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD)?
Not yet. Arkanix works with on-premises Active Directory.
How do I get a refund?
Write to us within 30 days of payment and we'll refund the full amount.
